Over 9,000 books have been written about leadership, but only a handful of books have been written about followership. Bob Dylan once said "everyone has to serve somebody", and even top executives play follower roles. Followership is a critical component in modern organizations, there are clear distinctions between good and bad followership, and it is a leading cause of organizational success and failure. This presentation describes what followership is and how it affects team functioning, coaching and training effectiveness, driving change, and work/life balance.

Participants who attend the session will be able to:

  1. Understand the pervasive role of followership in organizations.
  2. Understand the behaviors, underlying psychological issues, and training and motivational strategies associated with the four followership types.
  3. Apply a diagnostic model to assess the followership types of a work team.
