Many people have stereotypes and visions of remote employees working only in IT or telemarketing businesses, or wild entrepreneurial startup ventures. That is simply not true! Join Mickey for this energetic and informative session on who remote workers are, what skills are best for remote working, how to attract and retain remote employees, and how to engage with remote employees. Resources, ideas, and handouts will be shared, as well as plenty of time for Q&A!
About the presenter:
Mickey Fitch works as a Program Manager in Student Affairs for Academic Impressions, a Denver-based higher education professional development firm that provides webcasts, conferences, and publications that help solve major problems in higher education.
Prior to being a location-independent person, Mickey served in various capacities in student affairs for the last 15 years at colleges such as The College of St. Scholastica, University of Wisconsin-Superior, Iowa State University, and more. Mickey prides herself in her deeply nerdy need for knowledge, her drive for self-experimentation, and her love for animals and the Northwoods. Mickey lives, loves, schools, and works most of the time from her home in Superior, Wisconsin (and various other locations across the country). She is pursuing her PhD remotely through Northcentral University, and earned her Master’s in Counseling and Student Personnel in 2005 from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and Bachelor’s In Psychology/Sociology/Women’s Studies in 2003 from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
